What Are Words If You Really Don't Mean Them When You Say Them?

"What kind of guy would I be if I walked out when she needed me the most?"


These words from Chris Medina's American Idol audition touched a lot of people's hearts.

He was referring to his fiancee, Juliana Ramos. They have been engaged for two years and they were about to get married when a terrible accident happened to Juliana just two months before the wedding. After a month and a half in coma, she woke up but she was almost paralyzed and her brain was severely damaged. Since then, Chris has been taking care of her.

Many people were touched by Chris and Juliana's story. We admired Chris because he loved Juliana so much that he didn't leave her when she lost her beauty, her health and her ability to do things on her own. Chris knows that he might have to spend his whole life taking care of her but he never gave up. Not a lot of men can do that for a girl.

I heard some people say that he used Juliana to get sympathy on American Idol. I would say those people probably never had enough love in their loves to believe that a love like this could exist. I only see pure and selfless love here and I am hoping for all the best for the two of them. Besides, Chris didn't need sympathy to get him through Idol. He is a great singer.

He only made it to the Top 40 and didnt't make it to the Top 24. But fortunately for him, he already has a single out even before the Top 24 live shows started. A songwriter, Rodney Jerkins, was touched by Chris's story and immediately wrote a song specifically for him to record.
